She was named Nami because her parents wanted her to
be successful in what she was going to be when she grew
up. 

By the time she was in high school, she started dance
training, where her talent grabbed the attention of many. 
A year later she auditioned during one of Sony 
Music's annual Auditions. She performed Destiny's 
Child's hit song, "Survivor," and once again grabbed
attention. Her aim is to become as famous as Janet 
Jackson someday.

To date, she has released 12 singles, 3 albums and 3 DVD
albums. 
Nami has also recently entered the world of acting, in the
romantic comedy movie, Lovely Complex, based on the popular
manga of the same title, and the lead role in the Japanese 
Tour of the Broadway Musical, Sweet Charity.
